A lil bit about me…
A good place for us to start, is for you to understand the type of person I am. I get completely overjoyed by glitter, think more is more when it comes to glitter, and it couldn’t bother me less than having glitter stuck to my hands. I give toddlers high fives when they’re covered in paint instead of giving them a wet wipe. I help take their socks off when they try climbing into a sensory bin so they can feel with not only their fingers but their toes too. And no matter how many times I get handed a playdough cupcake, I will pretend to eat it as enthusiastically as if it were the first time. This is why I left the advertising world as a graphic designer at Mother NY, and said goodbye to my role as a senior designer with J.Crew’s creative marketing team, because what I have found complete joy in is creating magical moments for toddlers and their parents. Pop Art! Kids came to life during the height of covid. I had 3 children under 5, preschools, playgrounds and playdates were put on hold but I wanted a safe, outdoor option to be able to give my children and our community a creative outlet.
This program is as much for your children as it is for you. Every class at Pop Art! kids is a caregiver-and-child class. As much as drop-off programming is needed and appreciated (by myself included!) What I’m building here at Pop Art! Kids is a community for children and parents or caregiver to build a creative relationship with one another. For parents to not only share joy in their own child’s’ discoveries but to appreciate the company of other like-minded creative families and to build a community together. Registering for a session is so much more than signing your child up for another class. You’re being welcomed into a Reggio inspired creative community that wants to get to know you both. In the effort I put into making sure your child is being surrounded by materials and tools to start them on a path towards creative independence, I will also be making the same effort to educate parents on the benefits of everything we practice in class.
Thank you for joining me on this incredible (and messy) journey.
My mission is to give you and your little artist an environment to thrive in together.
